No Templar should be without the habit during Templar services or while eating or drinking within a Templar group.

The mantle should be worn in such a way as to have the laces of the cloak round the neck.

When wearing the cope [either a liturgical mantle, or a "rain coat" --ed.] to religious services,  the Templar should be dressed in the tunic if he is not wearing the mantle.

A Templar may eat in the same way, if he does not have a mantle.

The historic Templars had rules for life within the convent.  Most of these rules are specific to the religious community, but I share those rules with you here, with an application where possible, for use in the non conventual world.

Paraphrased from the book by J. M. Upton-Ward which translated the Templar Rule from the French to English.

This is NOT a literal wording of Upton-Ward's rule, but rather the presentation of a modern paraphrase that applies to most Templars.
